MAY|| He Loves Me

Hey guys!

Like in previous months, I was burdened with finding an appropriate theme for May and weaving a blog post around it.

Just in case you didn’t know, writing is hardwork and blogging is even harder.

In this age of information overload, it’s not enough to just string a bunch of words together and throw them into the Internet in the name of a blog post.

Your content must not only be relevant to readers, but also creative enough to make you stand apart from the millions of other bloggers around the globe.
Deep within I know I don’t always meet both criteria.

In fact, judging by the huge disparity in my month by month blog stats, I rarely do.

It’s not every time I meet my readers’ expectations, and it’s not every blogpost that every follower can relate to.

Some blogposts are easier to write than others.

They develop minds of their own and on such rare occasions I just flow along with the inspiration.

I didn’t mean to rant…I guess I just want you to know how grateful I am that you take time to read this blog (whether as a first-timer or a returnee, whether regularly or not).

Blogging is a platform for me to share my thoughts and convictions authentically without the fear of embarrassment.

That is why I do my best to be sincere about the things I share. And it means a lot to me that someone will be interested in reading what I have to say.

Of what use is a writer with no readers? And of what use is a blogger without followers?

If I were to give a hug for every time someone visits my blog, a thousand hugs will not be sufficient.

***

Moving on…
Can I just take a few moments to gush about God’s love for me?

There are times I feel frustrated by the situations around me,

or become disappointed by my many plans that fail,

or I’m simply depressed about how I mess up again and again…

But in the last couple of days, God has reminded me in several ways that I’m loved by him.
And that’s what truly matters.

Not too long ago, I was going about minding my business when God  whispered this thought into my heart:

“Dear Daughter, I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

Wow!

That thought literally blew my mind.

Not that I ever doubted his love for me. But the thought  was reassuring.

What really caught my attention was the word EVERLASTING.

I had to search the scriptures for this particular verse, and fish out different translations:

Jeremiah 31:3b GNB

“…I have always loved you, so I continue to show you my constant love.”

Jeremiah 31:3b AMP

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.”

Jeremiah 31:3b NLT: I have loved you, (my daughter), with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

Jeremiah 31:3b MSG : I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love and more love.

And here are some reasons why I know God really, really, deeply loves me:

  • He is patient with me when I’m being irrational
  • He is kind to me even when I don’t deserve it
  • He forgives me when I sin
  • He instructs me when I need counsel
  • He protects me when I’m in danger
  • He chastises me when I err
  • He provides for me when I’m in need
  • He comforts me when I’m hurting
  • He strengthens me when I’m weak
  • He heals me when I’m ill

And the list goes on and on…

God’s love is amazing and unconditional.

The invitation is open, will you accept his love today?

Struggling with: My Fitness goals. I’m not actually here to whine. But I’m really struggling in this area. I want to stay physically healthy and build up more stamina.

I was motivated to start early morning jogging a few weeks back.

Then one weekend, I went on a trip to the mountain top (with my flatmate) that left my feet sore for days…since then I lost the ginger. I hope to resume jogging soon or maybe try something different, dancing perhaps? 😉

Paying more attention to: my personal care…as in good hair, pedicure, manicure etc etc Simple DIY beauty tips will be of help.

Anyway that’s all for now.

Have a great month y’all.

Cheers!

DAY 7: THE BEST TIME TO LIVE IS NOW!

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Eunicesmiles blog is a great place to be, whether you’re a first time reader or a returnee.
I run a Journal kind of blog, where I write about topics that I’ve spent time to reflect upon. In other words, my blog is like an open book, which anyone and everyone is free to read about.
My favorite topics centre around God, Life, Christianity, Medicine, Family, and Friends.
The primary goal is to INSPIRE as many people that find their way here, by sharing my thoughts, lessons, challenges as well as victories, and ultimately introduce them to the person of my faith, Jesus.
The message of my blog is simple: The best time to live is NOW!
Not Yesterday. Not Tomorrow.
Right Now.
And what better way to Live than to Believe in the one who gave his Life, for you and for me?
Christ.
He is the reason why I live.
Sometime in 2015, I wrote this post highlighting some of my reasons for writing and well, blogging in particular. Those reasons haven’t changed much over the years.

Today, I’m thankful for this BLOG.

It’s one of the things that gives me so much joy.

And this makes it three years since I started blogging.

It was something I couldn’t have imagined doing until I had enough courage, motivation and enough momentum to begin.

I’ll always be thankful to my mentor in this blogosphere, Dr. Dami of adroitmedic’s blog, he also owns the blog adroitphotography.

I’ve been richly blessed in many ways since I started this blog. Here are a few of them:

1. Self discovery- This blog has made me realize a lot about myself, my likes/dislikes, musings, attitude to life and everything in between.

2. Creativity– I’ve also had the privilege of learning, discovering and working on a few creative ideas (like photography/videography/advertisement) by virtue of running this blog. My writing skills have remarkably improved too.

3. Inspiration– Tbh, this blog has been a source of inspiration to me as well. Sometimes I read a post I wrote in times past and just smile. I’ve found encouragement and motivation in down times, through the pages of this blog. For that I’m thankful.

4. Diligence- Well as a matter of fact, running a blog isn’t as easy as one is made to think. Especially when no financial renumeration is involved. My responsibility towards my readers is my main motivation for trying my best. This is a platform I do not to take for granted, because I never know who needs the words I have to offer. Thankfully, I get some encouraging feedback from time to time.

5. Fame– Haha. Pls believe me when I say this blog has given me a level of fame. I mean on a global scale too…because I have readers from all over lol. For that I’m thankful. A number of times I’ve had people approach me unexpectedly and say, “So you run a blog?” And I’m like “ok, so how did you find out?” The response differs from time to time.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to the blog through liking, commenting or by simply following my posts.

Thank you for being here, anonymously or otherwise.

There is no BLOG without you.

I can’t confidently say whether this blog is for a season or is indefinite, but for now, it’s a platform I’ll continue to use to the best of my abilities to reach out to others.

Hey, before you leave!

So as a way of saying THANK YOU, I have decided to do a giveaway. I will be giving out tokens of airtime (MTN, GLO, AIRTEL & ETISALAT) to FOUR of my blog subscribers.

PS: The giveaways are exclusive to my Nigerian followers only. I hope in future I can extend the giveaways to my readers across the globe.

See details of the giveaway here.

The winners will be announced (hopefully) by Friday, the 10th of May, and I will give further instructions on how to claim the prizes.

Cheers!

Spanish phrase for the day:
Tiengo un perro- I have a dog

(PS: Our family dog, Captain, who had been sick for sometime, died a few days ago. It was a sobering time for me in particular, as I was the last family member to see her alive. Thankfully, she left a 3-year old daughter, Lucy, and we hope she lives in good health for many years to come).

In lovely memory of CAPTAIN (2009-2017)

Thank you for reading.

DAY 25: EXCITED!!!

Welcome back.

First, let me apologize for all the missed days of this blog challenge.

Like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, this is the most challenging blog challenge I’ve undertaken in my 3 years of blogging.

I can’t even begin to list all the issues that came up along the line, but God is FAITHFUL.

You can tell I’m pretty excited tonight (err, actually it’s morning already). God has made one of MAJOR my goals for this year attainable.

Here’s a snippet:

And just in a little while, you all can have access to it.

He sure makes dreams come true!!!

I’ve been working on this project for over 5 months and at some point I was like “who send me job?”

Writing no be beans o. Especially when you try to go all professional with honest reviews et al.

Again, God is FAITHFUL.

Today I’m thankful for MY FEGGO DIARIES, which is now READY and will be released SOON!!!!!

Like, I can already taste it…hahaha. God is great.

See ehn, at one time, I didn’t even see myself as someone that could write a book talk less of publishing one. (Permit my Nigerian English😎🤓).

I’m grateful for everyone that encouraged and those that took part in this labor with me. My very good friend, Obinna, you’re such a blessing. My God will reward you fully.

All I can say is, IMELA.

Spanish phrase for the day:

Gracias Dio: Thank God.
