From the prison of my heart
And clutches of my thoughts,

I release you..

From what should have been
And what cannot be,

I release you..

From my unmet needs
And endless expectations,

I release you..

From my deepest longings
And saddest sighs,

I release you..

From what you don’t see, what you don’t hear
And what you don’t know,

I release you..

I know you don’t want to be here,
you’re free to fly as a bird,

I release you.

(Requine2015, “Therapeutic Tears“)

Welcome back.

I recently read an article “I’ll cry if I want to” by Les and Leslie Parrott.
And I found it really enlightening. For a chronic pillow wetter like myself, I could relate with some of the things the writer mentioned.

I cry a lot!. Yup, at least once a day on the average.

For anything, everything, something or “nothing” at all…lol.

I’m not sure I’ve always been this way but in the last 5 years or so, I’ve observed how easily triggered my tear glands are.

And because it’s quite embarrassing for a cute young lady to shed tears in public over seemly trivial matters, I’ve learnt the act of covering up well…

My pillow is often my hiding place. I can’t account for the number of tear drops it holds.

I won’t go into details of the reasons I cry but I’m glad to share what the scriptures say about those tears:
“You know how troubled I am; you have kept a record of my tears. Aren’t they listed in your book?”

Ps 56:8 GNB

Today, I’m thankful that God knows about my tears.

He sees every tear I shed, hears every time I sob, and is very aware of my sorrows.

One of my go-to scriptures is:

Ps 30:5b GNB

And more importantly, he promises to wipe away my tears finally and forever, someday.

“because the Lamb, who is in the center of the throne, will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Rev 7:17 GNB

So when was the last time you cried?
And what are you thankful for today?
