Today, I was in Church for the first time since a couple of Sundays.
One Sunday, I was on a road trip.
For two Sundays in a row, I was at work.
For the next few Sundays, I had to catch-up with chores
Or was just too lazy to leave my house.
I attend a church where they “sing and dance” too much
No matter how overwhelmed you were before service,
You can’t leave feeling the same.
An atmosphere of joyful worshippers,
Testimonies of God’s faithfulness,
And a Sermon that builds your Faith.
These and more, are reasons I’m glad I was in church today.
A couple of weeks ago, my old phone fell and broke its screen,
Normally, I would have been devastated
But I reminded myself that “God sees”
There has been a power outage in my neighborhood for 2 days,
My initial response would have been despair
But I remind myself that “God knows”
Today, I boiled tomatoes to prepare stew, but burnt the entire pot instead,
It hurt so much that I wanted to stay in bed and cry
The devil whispered that God doesn’t care enough about me
I simply asked satan to “Get behind me.”
Thank God It’s Friday.
And it’s more than a cliché.
I’m especially thankful today…
For the good times,
and the not-so-good ones.
For the stress of my job,
and the strength to face it.
For answered prayers and
For friends that stick closer than siblings,
And a family that cares in such an amazing way.
It’s a good day to be thankful.
After making purchases at the local market today, I got home to discover some of the eggs I got were spoilt.
Eggs have a shelf life, after which, if not consumed would go bad.
Skills also have a shelf life.
Unlike eggs, they don’t get rotten, they become extinct.
Here’s to getting back my writing Mojo!
Better days ahead.
It’s been a while, I know.
I really missed this space but life has been happening lately, behind the scenes.
Mostly work, work and more work!
It became so overwhelming at some point that I had to take a break.
This Adulting life no be beans o!
I almost miss the days when I had no job sef.
We don’t complain, right?
I would have loved to chill here a little more, but the emergency paediatric unit can be such a marketplace on some days.
My body needs some rest in advance. Lol.
Much love to the paediatricians out there, thank you for all you do!
