“Watch & Pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak“. (Matthew 26:41)

Just at the dawn of a new day while I was busy trying to set the course for the day, the Holy Spirit called
my attention to this great truth, “Confession Overcomes Temptations“. What prompted
that still small voice? I was bothered with some ungodly thoughts and I found myself keeping
quiet and gradually losing my strength.
Afterwards, the Holy Spirit made me realize that the problem was not the ungodly thoughts
suggested by the devil but the quietness on my part. He also
reminded me that, At first the enemy brings to the mind simple suggestions, then strong imaginations,
afterwards pleasure, evil affection, assent…till he gains total entrance into a man’s heart. And the longer a man delays resisting him, the stronger the enemy’s hold gets.
So to overcome any temptation that comes my way, I must
learn to talk the devil out of my life by confessing God’s WORD.
“Take up the weapons
of the Lord Jesus Christ and stop paying attention to your sinful nature and satisfying its desire.” –
Rom 13:14 (GNV).
The devil awakens the desires of the sinful nature in us through various temptations, but by our confession of God’s WORD, we put on the ‘spiritual weapons’ needed to resist such sinful desires.
In conclusion, do not stop confessing the WORD because by it you become an over-comer. Temptations will surely come but we have victory through the power in God’s WORD.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds,; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ...” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
So like Jesus did, let us resist any form of temptation from the devil by confessing God’s WORD, “it is written…”.
“And now, brethren I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified“. (ACTS 20:32).
