‘But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which his presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]’. –Galatians 5:22-23, AMP Version.
The beautiful thing about (most) fruits is that they are seasonal. People know when to expect what, and usually such expectations are met. This brings me to a friend’s analogy of the christian-life; a life in Christ is expected to bring forth fruit(s) in due season i.e. whenever the situation warrants it. Many times we fall short of living by the spirit and bearing fruits, because we fail to realize how much is expected of us.
This is the concluding part of what seemed to start as some ‘endless questions‘ with no sense of direction in my mind whatsoever. Anyway, between then and now, I have been enlightened and inspired (with the help of the Holy-spirit), by friends, situations and God’s word. By writing this particular series, I’m delighted to say that I am becoming better than I used to be.
I hope you will be inspired too.

All Our endless Questions!
We want the answers!
To the griefs we bear,
The tears we shed,
Our hurts and pain,
The maltreatment and humiliation:
The entire package that comes with the cross!
Yes! The cross of Christ to which we cling…
We need answers to why we can’t treat others maliciously,
if they treat and cheat us so…
We need answers to why we can’t cut corners to get rich quick,
when what others do is gamble and hustle…
We need answers to why some of our well-made plans fail woefully,
and the world mocks us on contemptuously…
We need many answers,
To about a 1000 to infinity questions!
We want those answers fast,
And we want them NOW!
What if we don’t really need all the answers,
To our hows and whys, whats and whens;
What if all we truly need is reassurance,
A complete faith in the love and mercy of God?
What if these trials are meant to be part of our journey:
To be cursed but choose to bless others,
To be hurt but choose to be strong,
To live peacefully in the midst of chaos,
To serve honestly in the thick of corruption,
To persevere within the many travails…
To let our lights shine and let our praises rise!
To bring forth fruits to God’s glory and shame the devil…
To endure and remain blameless until the very end_
What if this is what we must do,
When situations stretch us and frustrations step in…
To pray for God’s strength and trust in his grace,
That I think is what we must do…
So again I ask, How much is too much?
Nothing is really too much for God’s children to bear,
And nothing is too much for God’s children to give,
For his grace is always sufficient in every situation we face,
We know we can win because Christ has won already!
In all our questions, the hows, whens, whys and whats…
Let us remember that ‘nothing shall separate us from the love of Christ’. [Romans 8:39]. SHALOM!
